The fortifications of the town of Fribourg were built in the Middle Ages between the 13th and 15th centuries. The roughly 2km long wall used to protect the city. Today, it is the most significant piece of medieval military architecture in Switzerland. You can come and visit this medieval heritage any day of the year, either by yourself or with a guide.
