HighlightsThis delightful chalet has windows on all four sides, each exposed to a different view. Skiers gliding down the piste can be seen from the dining table, the telecabin is clearly visible from the kitchen, the mountainside is visible out the back and the living area has a magnificent view over the valley to the the Swiss Alps beyond. Bedrooms & BathroomsWith three double rooms, one room with bunk beds and an extra space in the attic that is perfect for two teenagers, the chalet can sleep up to 10 people so is ideal for two families, or a large group of friends. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The other three downstairs bedrooms share two bathrooms, one of which has an indoor whirlpool spa bath, the other of which has a shower and access to the sauna. There is a separate WC on the bedroom floor and a second on the main living floor. La Tzoumaz Chalet les Enfants du Paradis is equipped with a high chair and a folding travel cot (bedding not provided) suitable for children under 2 years old, and a second is available on demand on arrival. Please note that in accordance with the manufacturer's safety instructions, additional mattresses are not provided with the cots. EquipmentThe bright and spacious separate kitchen is fully fitted to meet the needs of cooking on your mountain holiday, and has a small breakfast table. There is a fridge/freezer, separate freezer, oven and hob. There is a dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, electric filter coffee-machine, Nespresso coffee-machine plus fondue and raclette sets for a traditional Swiss evening in front of the log fire. A washing machine, dryer, iron and hairdryer are available, and there is a portable barbecue for outdoor use. Just inside the main entrance is a kit room with ski-boot dryers and plenty of hooks and shelf space to keep your mountain equipment warm and organised for the next day on the mountains. RelaxingThe morning coffee balcony is a great place from which to admire the style of the first skiers passing by as they head down the piste for another run on beautifully groomed pistes. There is a large side terrace and a sunny rear terrace for enjoying a barbecue lunch. When it's time to relax indoors, a soak in the whirlpool spa bath and a session in the sauna are a great way to relax as evening approaches. Later on, sipping a glass of local wine as a friend plays a familiar tune on the piano, you can light the fire and watch the winter snowflakes drifting slowly past the windows. Parking next to the chalet access steps for 2 cars plus a further car in a roofed shelter opposite. Winter tyres and/or snow chains necessary in winter due to snowy access road. Alternative parking is available 200m away, in a lay-by on the main road. Contact us for railway or airport transfers. WinterThe beginner's carpet lift is just a short uphill walk from the chalet. A short ski down the main piste brings you to the Savoleyres telecabin in a matter of minutes and good skiers can reach this main piste from the garden. The modern high-speed telecabin carries you from La Tzoumaz up to the top of the Savoleyres in less than 8 minutes, from where you can decide to ski back on the quiet La Tzoumaz slopes or ski down to Verbier’s legendary slopes and world-class off-piste opportunities in the vast 4-Valleys ski area. SummerIn the peak summer season (from early July to late August), we provide you with free VIP pedestrian lift-passes, half-price mountain-bike daypasses and a range of other discounts. The telecabin link to Verbier operates daily at this time of year from 08:45 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:45, meaning that you can easily access the famous resort as a pedestrian, or accompanied by your bicycle or e-bike. For a small supplement you can even use a variety of mountain lifts to make your way up to Mont Fort at 3300m for the highest fondue in Europe and incredible mountain panoramas that include Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. In summer, the area turns into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with hundreds of kilometres of marked trails criss-crossing the mountains, awash with alpine flowers and a range of wildlife to spot. Visit the Maison de la Foret with its wildlife exhibitions and its Five Senses Nature Trail, and the starting point of many beautiful hikes. The Bisses are relatively flat footpaths that follow the water as it trickles around the mountainsides, where for centuries farmers and villagers channelled the streams for their own uses.
