Sign of the Angel
About
Sign of the Angel is a 15th‑century coaching inn and two‑starred AA restaurant nestled in the National Trust village of Lacock, a stone‑washed village on the edge of the Cotswolds. Its timber‑frame rooms, each with its own en‑suite bath, combine historic charm with modern comfort – a cosy refuge after a day exploring Bath or the surrounding countryside. The inn’s dining rooms, warmed by fire‑painted hearths, showcase a menu built on local, seasonal produce, and the garden’s riverside terrace is the perfect spot for a cream‑tea or a glass of local wine. Breakfast is included in the nightly room rate when booked directly, while the restaurant’s brunch, lunch and dinner service run from 10:00 am – 11:30 am, 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm and 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm respectively, Monday through Saturday – and a slightly shorter brunch and lunch schedule on Sundays. Dogs are welcome throughout the property and the inn operates on a cash‑less basis, making a smooth check‑in and check‑out experience. Guests can book rooms directly via the inn’s website (see the “Book a Room” link on the inn page). Reservations for the restaurant are accepted online, with a card held on request for weekend bookings, but no payment is taken at the time of booking. The inn is wheelchair‑accessible except for lift‑free rooms, and extra cleaning fees apply for guests with dogs.
