Strathardle Lodge dates back to the 1700's where it started off as a Drover's Inn. The field across from the Lodge is where the Jacobites gathered for their ill fated battles against the red coats. Strathardle Lodge (formerly Strathardle Inn) is now run as a Guest House, with a licensed and well stocked Honesty Bar for residents. The Guest House has plenty of free parking, a small gym and serves a delicious Highlander or Strathie breakfast, all included in the price. For the more energetic, Kirkmichael sits at a cross roads of many scenic paths and trails, all from the doorstep of the Strathardle Lodge. If you want to brush up on your cake decorating skills, then you'll find regular classes run on the premises with Paul Bradford. Paul has made cakes for the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince Albert of Monaco and has taught around the world, so you'll be in safe hands. Come and make yourself at home with a glass or cup of something nice and sit around the open fire and enjoy this tranquil setting.
