Mayor of Bath's Honorary Guides
About
The Mayor of Bath's Honorary Guides offer free, volunteer‑led walking tours that highlight Bath’s historic streets, Georgian architecture and UNESCO World Heritage sites. The tours run every day of the year (except Christmas Day) and begin at 10:30 am and 2:00 pm from the Abbey Churchyard, the usual meeting point outside the Roman Baths and Pump Room. Each two‑hour walk covers key landmarks such as the Roman Baths, Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge, and the Circus. In summer months, additional evening walks depart at 6:00 pm, and themed walks – the Pulteney Estate and the Bath Blitz – are available midweek. Groups of ten or more must pre‑book via the official group booking page, where a refundable £3 deposit per guest is requested; individual tourists need no booking. All tours are free and tips are not accepted. The organisation has been recognised with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2014 and is celebrated for delivering informative and engaging tours to visitors worldwide.
