About

The Queen’s Head is an award-winning 15th Century Free House in the picturesque conservation village of Hawkedon. A former coaching inn it remains full of unique character and charm gloriously unaffected by the ravages of time, with low timbered ceilings, flagstone floors, scrubbed pine tables and inglenook fireplaces sporting blazing log fires. The atmosphere is relaxed with a lively local ambience. There is a superb selection of cask conditioned ales, traditional ciders, an extensive fine wine list and an excellent and imaginative seasonal menu on offer. Please take a look at our web-site for the bar and restaurant opening hours. We have two luxuriously appointed apartments each comprising a double bedroom, lounge area with kitchenette and bathroom. The larger Medieval Hall apartment has a free standing bath whilst the Stable Loft apartment has a shower. We are a short drive from historic Bury St Edmunds, the National Trust’s Ickworth Park. Cambridge, Lavenham and Newmarket.
