Long Byres Holiday Cottages are located on a working hill farm in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our six specially designed holiday cottages were converted from the traditional farm buildings in 1979 and are an early example of farm diversification. They are set within a tranquil and scenic environment with views of the surrounding fells and towards the Lake District. Each cottage provides self contained accommodation with their own kitchen and bathroom facilities whilst varying in size from cottages with one double bedroom suitable for solo travellers and couples through to cottages with three bedrooms suitable for large groups and families. Over the years, the cottages have evolved and been updated to accommodate guests but the fantastic location has remained constant and the biggest attraction. Tucked away in a beautiful corner of the North Pennines, the cottages offer a private and peaceful retreat enabling guests to switch off from the busy world and relax back into nature. With plenty to explore and enjoy on our doorstep along with the accessible location for the Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland National Park, Kielder Forest and much more, we are a gateway to explore some of the most spectacular parts of the UK.
