A short stroll through the forest leads to Symonds Yat known as one of the finest viewpoints in Southern England which perches over the River Wye below. This area is very popular for cycling, walking, caving, climbing and canoeing in addition to multiple tourist attractions for all ages. Further afield, the historic cities of Gloucester, Hereford, Bristol and Cardiff, historic monuments such at Tintern Abbey, Chepstow and Goodrich Castles and the quaint villages of the Cotswolds are all within easy driving distance.
