Goodwood House
About
Goodwood House is a Grade I listed country mansion set within a sprawling 4,900‑hectare estate in West Sussex, England. The Jacobean core – built in 1617 – has been home to the Dukes of Richmond since 1697 and now operates as a living museum, showcasing the family’s heritage through finely furnished rooms, an impressive art collection and historic vehicles. Beyond the house, the estate offers world‑famous events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Goodwood Revival and the annual Goodwood Racecourse meetings, alongside two championship golf courses, a 1,600‑ha organic farm and a variety of restaurants and hotels. The estate has also become a destination for health and wellness, with the Goodwood Health & Wellbeing centre providing a range of programmes that blend outdoor activities, a Technogym‑powered gym, spa treatments, longevity retreats and a curriculum of nutrition and wellbeing classes. Visitors can enjoy afternoon tea in the formal gardens, guided tours of the State Apartments, and bespoke experiences such as the Goodwood Driving Academy or the Goodwood Flying School. An average visit lasts around three hours, allowing ample time to explore the house, gardens, and motor circuit. Peak season runs from late spring through early autumn, but the estate remains an inviting escape all year round, whether you are a motor‑enthusiast, a golf lover, a family seeking a leisurely day or someone eager to recharge in a holistic wellness setting.
