The Market Tafarn is the only pub in Abergavenny which is known for good blues,rock/pop music and open mic sessions which give up-and-coming musicians a chance to perform live. We have had the B.B.C (the British Broadcasting Corporation) film our Open Mic Sessions. We are right in the centre of town, just a short walk to bus and rail station. We stock a selection of good real ales through the year. Myself, Janie the landlady and Viji the landlord have traveled most of the world between us. I was a nurse and Viji worked for multinational companies in London. Viji is the sportsman having played hockey and cricket at county level. I am the one who organises the music. We have twin rooms and family rooms and also a room which will accommodate groups such as walkers and golfers. We welcome visitors and pride ourselves on our hospitality. We have secure parking for bikes.
