The Fir Tree Country Hotel, bar and restaurant is nestled in the small village of Fir Tree itself and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, right on the doorstep of the Durham Dales. Just a 10 minutes drive to Bishop Auckland and only 12 miles from the City of Durham we are ideally situated to take advantage of the many local attractions and historic sites in our region. After a major refurbishment lasting over 18 months The Fir Tree Country Hotel, bar and restaurant reopened its doors. We welcome you to our beautiful, new surroundings, whether you’re having a meal in our restaurant or just a quiet drink in the bar we feel confident that your first visit won’t be your last. There has been a bar on the site for well over 120 years now, which has become a landmark in the village and surrounding area. The completely revamped restaurant now seats over 70 people comfortably in a pleasant atmosphere.
