About

Aberlour Distillery sits idyllically on the banks of the River Spey in the Scottish Highlands, where the warm Speyside climate gives single‑malt whisky its distinctive character. Established in 1879 by James Fleming, the distillery has been a family‑owned business since its founding and was only recently acquired by Chivas Brothers in 2001. Today it is one of the last remaining bottlers from the historic Aberlour Smith & Nephew brewery group, keeping alive a proud legacy of local craftsmanship. The modern visitor centre opened in 2002 and offers guided tours of the stills, mash rooms and 3.9 M L annual processing plant. Aberlour is celebrated for its range of single‑malt expressions, from the classic 12‑year and 18‑year blenders to the rare 30‑year vintage. Over the past decade the distillery has amassed more than 50 award trophies, including 58 Gold awards and eight International Spirits Competition trophies. Tasting experiences are available for visitors of all ages. Guests can sample the house‑blend or explore a selection of age‑statement releases, all prepared with traditional pot‑still techniques and carefully selected cask finishes. The distillery’s warm, welcoming atmosphere makes it a favourite destination for whisky enthusiasts and casual tourists alike.
