About
Dover Museum and Bronze Age Boat Gallery tells the story of the port and town of Dover from Neolithic times to the modern day. Displays feature local archaeological finds, models charting the development of the harbour, and our famous polar bear, known as Fred! The Dover Bronze Age Boat, the world's oldest known seagoing vessel, is displayed in its own gallery alongside an exhibition on Bronze Age life. The Special Exhibition Gallery features a new display each year. The museum building also houses the White Cliffs Country (Dover, Deal and Sandwich) Visitor Information Centre, and a souvenir and gift shop. All galleries are wheelchair-accessible, and printed copies of the stairwell exhibitions are available to borrow. Admission is free.
