Alton Albany Farm is a very comfortable riverside Farmhouse B&B in a peaceful, picturesque valley a short walk from the pretty conservation village of Barr, on the edge of the Galloway Forest and Dark Sky Park. The Stinchar River runs along the edge of the grounds whilst the Albany Burn runs through our orchard. There is unspoilt walking and rambling in stunning scenery, mountain biking, cycling, fishing and birdwatching within easy reach. Beaches nearby with views to Ailsa Craig and the Western Isles. Glasgow is less than one and a half hours drive and Ayr just 40 minutes. The ferries to and from Ireland all depart from Cairnryan which is less than an hour away by car.
