The OVO Hydro, located on Exhibition Way in Glasgow’s Scottish Event Campus, opened on 30 September 2013 as a purpose‑built, multi‑purpose indoor arena. With a fully seated capacity of 12,306 and a maximum standing capacity of 14,500, the venue is the largest entertainment facility in Scotland and the fifth‑largest in the United Kingdom. Designed by Foster + Partners, it features translucent outer cushions, a state‑of‑the‑art rigging grid and a flexible draping system that can accommodate 5,000 to 9,000 people for concerts, sports, comedy, and other live events. The Hydro is a major venue for world‑class performers, including rock, pop, metal and theater acts, and is known for its accessibility features such as dedicated entrances, lifts, and support for wheelchair and sensory‑needs guests. A vibrant hub for Glasgow’s live entertainment scene, the OVO Hydro consistently attracts over a million visitors each year, hosting a diverse range of events from international concerts and festivals to sporting competitions and wrestling championships.
