Tudor/Jacobean manor house in Much Marcle, Ledbury. Open Wednesdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays, 10.30am - 5.00pm from April 1 - October 15. Guided tours of the house bookable online. Admission to the grounds, gardens and tearoom is free. The tearoom serves a range of delicious homemade cakes, scones and lunches. Hellens has an incredible tapestry of stories, characters, art and furniture, grounds and gardens and a history dating back to 1057. Attractions include heirlooms of Anne Boleyn, the haunted bed chamber prepared for Queen Mary Tudor, paintings by Van Dyke, Burne-Jones, Gainsborough and Goya, and the fascinating story of Hetty Walwyn. The gardens include a yew labyrinth, a rare octagonal dovecote and a physic garden. The grounds cover 150 acres of ancient SSI woodland and wildflower meadows. Hellens hosts an eclectic range of concerts, workshops and events, including a monthly Produce Market, a classical music festival, a Garden Festival and a Textile Bazaar.
