A surprisingly large museum and yet also a real hidden gem due to its location in beautiful Pateley Bridge in the Yorkshire Dales. It immerses you in the past lives of people in Nidderdale, over the course of 13 exhibition spaces and 15 life-sized re-creations. With over 30,000 fascinating items in our collection, it is not all about glass display cases but about showing items in context in spaces such as the schoolroom, parlour, cobblers shop, war-room, kitchen etc. A great visit at any time but also especially welcome in wet weather as it is Nidderdale's largest indoor attraction! Small entry fee for adults, free for children. Run by volunteers - so friendly, knowledgeable stewards on duty to talk about the exhibits. Don't miss it!
