PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A RESTAURANT: we don’t operate a kitchen. The Ypres and its big, green garden are open for drinks four days a week – Thursday to Sunday – from 12 noon (we also open on Bank Holiday Mondays). We don’t take bookings: just turn up, order a drink, and relax. Great beer is our main focus. Our favourite breweries are the likes of Deya, Burning Sky, Kernel, Polly’s, Beak and Howling Hops. We also support small local producers such as Three Legs, Nightingale Cider and Rother Valley Brewing. Our draught lagers are from Rothaus in Germany’s Black Forest and Bedlam Brewery here in Sussex. We always have a low-intervention or natural wine on tap: at the moment, it’s Ciello Bianco Catarratto from Sicily. We also serve a handful of other wines by the bottle and by the glass. To accompany our great drinks, we offer local cheeses, cured meats, pork pies and superior bar snacks. Subject to availability, we serve these all day.
