Broad Haven South Beach
About
Broad Haven South is a sheltered stretch of golden sand backed by dunes, situated on the western coast of Pembrokeshire in Wales. The beach is ideal for swimming, surfing, fishing and family picnics, and it is renowned for its inviting limestone stack, Church Rock, which rises a short distance offshore. The area is accessible via a one‑mile boardwalk that begins at the Bosherston car park, and the National Trust provides mobility vehicle hire for visitors with reduced mobility. The beach is part of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail and offers easy access to the nearby Stackpole Estate lakes, which are a National Nature Reserve that host a diverse range of wildlife such as water lilies, dragonflies and otters. Dogs are welcome all year round, making it a family‑friendly destination for pet owners. The beach has no lifeguards on duty, so visitors are advised to watch the red and yellow flags when swimming and to follow all safety signs posted across the foreshore. Facilities include toilets with disabled access at the Bosherston and Broad Haven South car parks, but there are currently no baby‑changing rooms. Litter bins are situated along the beach to encourage visitors to keep the area clean. Whether you are looking to surf, walk the coast path, or simply relax on the soft sand, Broad Haven South offers a peaceful and scenic setting that highlights the natural beauty of the Pembrokeshire coastline.
