Oakwood Theme Park
About
Oakwood Theme Park, once the largest family adventure destination in Wales, was nestled in the picturesque countryside of Pembrokeshire near Canaston Bridge. Opened in 1987, the 90‑acre park grew from humble beginnings into a bustling amusement hub featuring 30 attractions, including iconic wooden roller coaster Megafobia, the sky‑high Vertigo Skycoaster, the adrenaline‑pumping drop tower Bounce, and the family‑friendly water slide Snake River Falls. The park celebrated every season with themed areas such as New Orleans, Neverland, and Circus Land, drawing in thrill‑seekers, families, and coaster enthusiasts alike. Unfortunately, on 4 March 2025 Oakwood announced its permanent closure, citing business challenges and declining visitor numbers. Though the park is now defunct, its legacy as a cherished Welsh landmark lives on in the memories of countless visitors.
