Bassenthwaite Lake Station
About
Café and Small Visitor Attraction. A former Station steeped in history and surrounded by nature, in the heart of the North Lakes, situated opposite the scenic Dubwath Silver Meadows nature reserve. Enjoy breakfast, brunch and lunch aboard the replica Orient Express train. Afternoon teas available - advance booking essential. Wheelchair and buggy accessible throughout. Families and four-legged friends welcome. Tables in the old Ticket Office and bar carraige are for walk-in guests and on a first-come-first-served basis with an informal waiting list for tables. A bar and picnic benches are available for drinks, icecream and cakes from the coffee shop or a cheeky beer or wine in the sunshine! Booking is very strongly advised for tables on the train. Customers are welcome to request their food or drinks in takeaway packaging and spend some quiet time in our bird hide or wellbeing pod. Keep a good look out for the elusive red squirrel, roe deer, mallard and a myriad of woodland birds.
