About

Royal Air Force Bircham Newton Heritage Centre is a small museum where we display distinguished history of the former west Norfolk airfield of Bircham Newton and its two World War II satellites at Docking and Langham. The Former RAF Station opened in 1918 and closed in 1962 after 44 years as an active RAF Station. Bircham Newton is one of few RAF Stations to see service in both world wars. During the Second World War the station saw service as part of No. 16 Group RAF Coastal Command. Many RAF Servicemen lost their lives during wartime service. At RAF Bircham Newton Heritage Centre we tell the story of all those that served at the station during the 44 years it was open, and remember those who gave their lives in the course of duty. Please refer to The RAF Bircham Newton Heritage Centre Facebook page for scheduled openings for the year. For any questions and Inquires please contact Jamie Heffer Via the Email address provided.
