Greywalls Hotel & Chez Roux is a sumptuous Edwardian country house turned luxury boutique hotel situated on the edge of the famed Muirfield championship golf course in Gullane, East Lothian. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1901 for former British MP Alfred Lyttelton, the building was originally known as High Walls. After a series of notable owners—including the socialite Evelyn Forbes, the Horlick family, and the weaving dynasty that converted the estate into a hotel in 1948—Greywalls has retained its grand architecture and historic charm. The hotel boasts elegant rooms, lush gardens, and spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, while its on‑site restaurant, Chez Roux, is helmed by celebrated French chef Albert Roux.
