The House of Culgruff

Culgruff House was built in 1889 as a wedding gift by Robert Stewart for his wife . The house took six years to build and at that time had a household of 17 servants and 4 groundsmen. In those days it was a grand 1600 acre estate owning most of the farms and land that can be seen from the tower to this day. Sold in 1947 to the McCormick family it was converted to a country house hotel . 2 subsequent owners followed before we became the current guardians of the house in 2018. After extensive modifications we are open as a boutique guest house and we shall be opening a tea room in the very near future . We look forward to welcoming guests old and new .
