Located a short drive from the centre of Leicester in the village of Houghton on the Hill, the Old Black Horse Inn is a traditional village pub, which has been refreshed, creating a warm and relaxing place for a bite to eat, a leisurely drink or a hearty dinner. Inside there’s a beautifully renovated main bar and snug, where dogs are welcome and a separate spacious dining area and conservatory. It’s a pub for all seasons, with a wood-burning stove and open fire keeping things toasty in winter and a terrace and garden to be enjoyed when the sun shines. The large beer garden is a lovely spot, with views of the surrounding rolling green fields and trees. In keeping with the pub’s surrounds, home-cooked modern British food that makes the most of local produce is served. The seasonally changing menu consists of much loved pub classic dishes, which are enhanced by daily specials and delicious Sunday Roasts. Weekend breakfasts are served on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 10am.
