Once a royal hunting reserve, the National Park boasts a large population of freely roaming wild Red Deer and ponies. The Park has 34 miles of coastline and has the highest sea cliff on mainland Britain. This dramatic coastline has become an adventure playground for both climbers and explorers. The cliffs provide one of the longest and most isolated Seacliff traverses in the UK. For those wanting to tick off items from their bucket list, The Southwest Coast Path is the longest National Trail in England and Wales. Starting at Minehead it runs 630 miles along Exmoor’s coast, passing by Locanda on the Weir. Exmoor has been designated an international dark sky reserve; the land possesses exceptional starry nights of over 4 thousand stars that are visible to the naked eye.
