About

Top 10 things you need to know about Stane Street Syndicate bar: 1) If Stane Street Syndicate were a drink, it would be a pint; devoid of pretension, not overly expensive and, when you're in the mood, satisfying. It is what it is – a refurbished former O’Neill’s, offering up simple grub. 2) If Stane Street Syndicate had an occupation, it would be a street artist; creative yet far from fine art and accessible to everyone. The highlight of its Ruby Jean’s Diner menu is the option to create your own burger, allowing for combinations including peanut butter, burnt end chilli, mac and cheese, and, astoundingly, Monster Munch*. 3) If Stane Street Syndicate were a game, it would be table tennis – mainly because there is a table on offer inside. 4) If Stane Street Syndicate had a favourite compilation album, it would be Now "That’s What I Call Music!". On the night we visited the knick-knack adorned walls reverberated with pre-lash excitement as the DJ spun chart topping hits. 5) If Stane Street Syndicate had a motto, it would be ‘the more the merrier’. Far from exclusive, the restaurant and bar welcomed into its cavernous interior lippie-loving female herds, pierced and tattooed couples, hipsters, wannabes, LADS, and middle-aged solo adventurers (with slightly oppressive gazes). 6) If Stane Street Syndicate could impart wisdom, it would probably tell you not to visit with a first date. There’s cutlery but nachos doesn’t call for knives and forks, it calls for napkins and regular trips to the loo for quick hand and, unfortunately, face washes. 7) If Stane Street Syndicate was an orphan, its departed mum and dad would have been American, and its adopted parents English. Its rock ‘n roll heritage clearly evident through a jukebox and booths, synergised British customs, such as stocking a generous selection of lagers and bitters, learned along the way. 8) If Stane Street Syndicate built a dating site profile, under 'about me' it would cite 'great location, one-minute walk from Clapham Common underground and park', 'relaxed burger lover looking for a good time' and 'likes the occasional drink'. 9) If Stane Street Syndicate had a favourite film, it would be The Breakfast Club. A separate menu for breakfast, the restaurant knows it's the most important meal of the day. It also knows Southern-fried chicken is definitely, 100% acceptable to eat on a waffle before 12pm. 10) *Not advisable together.
