A fascinating past According to the Guinness Book of Records, our bar counter is the longest in the UK, and is overlooked by a stunning stained glass window depicting a falcon. MC Escher, the artist involved in the bar's design, is best known for his strange graphic works depicting surreal, impossible perspectives. The Falcon is part of the crest of the St John family, which is where our pub derives its name.
