Sleeps up to eight people: comfortable, family-friendly, fully equipped three bedroom holiday flat right on the beach front in Margate with stunning panoramic views over the Kent coast from the lounge, all three bedrooms and even the kitchen. Free wifi and free parking. Easy to find as the flat is high up in the imposing tower of Arlington House, an iconic example of Brutalist architecture and visible throughout Margate. Perfect for seaside holidays or exploring the historic Kent countryside following in the footsteps of the Romans, Saxons, Vikings, Canterbury Pilgrims, Charles Dickens, the famous painter JMW Turner and TS Eliot. Watch the glorious sunsets from the comfort of your armchair: Turner remarked to the influential writer and art critic John Ruskin that “…the skies over Thanet are the loveliest in all Europe”. The unique quality of light in this part of Kent drew Turner back time and again, to stay in his guesthouse by the Harbour, now the site of the world-class Turner Contemporary Gallery. Located just across the road from Margate Main Sands beach and within walking distance of all Margate's attractions including the Turner Contemporary, the mysterious Shell Grotto, the picturesque Old Town, the wonderfully preserved Tudor House and right next door to the historic Dreamland Amusement Park with its Scenic Railway and Cinema - don't worry, the flat is on the other side of the building, so you won't be disturbed by any sounds of revelry.The flat is on the sunset side high up in the iconic 60's high-rise tower, featured in the BBC TV series 'True Love', and has secure entry, two lifts and residents-only free on-site parking. It's fully equipped with wifi, TV, freeview box, DVD, fridge-freezer, cooker with oven, washer, microwave, kettle and toaster, cutlery and crockery for 8 plus children's plastic dinner service for 6, kitchen utensils, tea towels and washing up liquid. Bed linen and bath towels provided, together with a selection of books, DVDs, board games and toys, and a VHS player with a supply of Disney videos for children. Fresh clean bathroom with original Sixties fixtures including high-line bath tub, a new electric shower and heated towel rail, and essential toiletries provided (shower gel, hand wash and hand lotion). Sleeps up to 8 adults (three bedrooms plus double sofa-bed in lounge), with cot mattress available for a toddler. Dreamland Lets self-catering holiday apartment is perfect for family holidays by the seaside, romantic breaks, friends get-aways or business trips. Explore the historic Kent countryside or just laze on the golden sand of Margate's wonderful beaches just across the road. The flat has the original 60s kitchen and bathroom, with old-style fittings including highline bath tub, there is a new electric shower over the bath tub. The furnishings have been geared towards lively young families so are on the practical end of the style spectrum. The two lifts are also original, so are old and can be a bit temperamental, they are serviced on a regular basis. We provide a complimentary welcome tray of tea, coffee & biscuits, and pop some fresh milk in the fridge so you can have a cuppa on arrival - you bring the beach towels and sunscreen. Maybe also pack your sketchpad and pencils, be inspired to emulate Turner and produce your own masterpiece. Sorry, no smoking, but the Nayland Rock Shelter, where TS Eliot wrote 'The Waste Land', is just across the road on the beach, and who knows, inspiration might strike while you puff away.
