Woburn Abbey and Gardens, the stately home of the 15th Duke and Duchess of Bedford, is currently undergoing a major refurbishment programme that began in 2019. Recent progress has seen the completion of the Screen Walls and the installation of a disability‑accessible passenger lift, while extensive stonework and conservation work continue across the house’s historic interiors. There have been unforeseen issues, particularly with the roof structure, which mean the reopening has been delayed until the end of 2024. During the closure, the wider Woburn Estate remains open, with Woburn Safari Park, the golf club and the Deer Park still welcoming visitors. The Deer Park, especially during the rutting season, offers guidelines to ensure both visitor safety and animal welfare.
