Melbourne Parish Church: St Michael with St Mary
About
Melbourne Parish Church is located next to Melbourne Hall and dates back to the 12th Century, being reputedly built by the Bishop of Carlisle. It is a place of peace and tranquility with many interesting architectural features. The church is open 9am to 5pm every day and there are three services each Sunday and some mid-week services (please check the website for details). There is a fine ring of 12 bells, so do listen on a Sunday or Tuesday evening, or feel free to pop in and watch us ring. In the summer months (Easter to mid-September) there is tea and cake available on a Sunday afternoon in Church House, which is next to the church. There is no charge for anyone visiting the church, but there is a donations box if you wish to help support the maintance of this fine building.
