About

Built in 1271, The Tinners Arms has been at the heart of village life in Zennor for over 700 years. Originally built to accommodate the masons who constructed St Senara’s Church, famous for its mermaid, you’ll find little has changed over the years. Modern life slips away as you step inside. Join a friendly mix of regulars, visitors, families and walkers (often with a well-natured dog or two in tow) in the cosy bar or the light and airy dining room. Or spill out into the sunny garden with views to the rugged Atlantic coastline. Stay on and settle in by the roaring fire for a legendary Tinners Thursday Folk Night session. “At Zennor one sees infinite Atlantic, all peacock-mingled colours, and the gorse is sunshine itself. Zennor is a most beautiful place: a tiny granite village nestling under high shaggy moor-hills and a big sweep of lovely sea beyond, such a lovely sea, lovelier even than the Mediterranean… It is the best place I have been in, I think” – D. H. Lawrence, 1916.
