About

Bodster Equine Assisted Learning Centre is run to work with young people and adults with complex needs such as Autism, Aspergers and Downs - in a supervised horse environment. Horses are the main focus of activities at our learning centre on the Isle of Wight. This can vary from looking at how to approach a horse safely to grooming or leading a horse through an obstacle course. There is no riding involved. By working with horses on the ground and developing skills which enable communication between people and horses learners can become more self-aware and then transfer this learning to other situations. Our aim is to raise aspirations and ambition and to nurture skills and attributes needed for personal fulfilment and to make a positive contribution to the community and society.Bodster has been set up by Jo and Giles Boddington, qualified teachers and Jo is an experienced Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator. We are experienced in working with people from 6 years to 90 years and with learning difficulties and so can cater for everyone’s needs. Our prices are for a two hour experience and this includes everything you need, equipment, instruction, public liability insurance, health and safety briefing and refreshments.
