Our family run Free house is one of the oldest pubs in the South of England and is in an excellent position for exploring with lovely walks close by in Ashurst Park, Stone Cross, Burrswood, Withyham and The Ashdown Forest. There are links to information for Cycling, Rock Climbing, Golf, Horse Riding and Fishing in the area. Groombridge Place is only across the road where weekend events take place, lovely gardens to walk through and a children's Enchanted Forest. Come and try our traditional cuisine in the cosy beamed restaurant with log fires to keep you warm. 5 Lovely wooden beamed double and twin bedded rooms are available. All our rooms have washbasins and tea and coffee making facilities. Due to the nature of our beautiful pub, only one of our rooms has en-suite facilities, however there is a bathroom on the same level as the other bedrooms.
