A historic Hotel Bar and Restaurant with delicious home cooked food and variety of Beers, Ales and Spirits dating back to the 17th Century for local, business guests or the independent traveller. Hunter's Bar & Restaurant offers a home-cooked menu featuring British pub classics and other dishes from local produce. There is a well stocked bar with Real Ales and an extensive wine list. In the winter the two large open fires create that relaxing atmosphere where you can feel the history of the King's Lodge. The historic and royal association of the Kings Lodge spans five centuries. Built in the 17th century, it was converted to a hunting lodge by the Lord of Langleybury who later became Charles I of England. In the cellars below are the remains of passages said to lead to a nearby house occupied by Nell Gwynne, Charles II’s lover
