About
A sensory garden created by volunteers from the Friends of Rochester Churchfields & Esplanade (FoRCE) where disabled and non-disabled visitors can enjoy a range of educational and recreational sensory experiences. The garden features a combination of the existing landscape, together with bee and butterfly friendly plants, herbs and other materials which generate a range of aromas, colours, textures and sounds to encourage and stimulate the senses. The garden has been created to commemorate the life and work of local non-militant suffragist Vera Conway Gordon who lived opposite the park over 100 years ago.
