About

Bonnybridge and District has a fascinating history ranging from the finding of prehistoric artifacts such as a solid gold torc, through Roman remains such as Rough Castle on the site of the Antonine Wall, a Dark Ages Motte and Bailey Castle, and onwards through the Industrial Revolution with the Forth and Clyde passing through encouraging world-famous Iron Foundries and specialised Brick Works. Today the area has a more bucolic appearance with modern sources of employment and even a tenuous link to stories of UFO kidnappings!
