Port Logan Fish Pond
About
Port Logan Fishpond is Scotland’s oldest natural marine aquarium, nestled on the sandy edge of Port Logan on the Galloway Coast. Visitors stroll through a series of rock‑cut tunnels and glass paths to meet a diverse array of sea fish—rays, cod, pollock, turbot, mullet, starfish, hermit crabs and more—and learn about their local habitats. The attraction also features the historic ladies’ bathing hut, built before 1845, which offers a unique glimpse into the village’s past. Free parking and dog‑friendly grounds add to its accessibility, making it a relaxed day‑out for families, couples and nature lovers alike. A highlight is the walk through the marine life exhibits and the chance to see the natural tidal pool beneath the hut. Entrance includes a visit to the small museum and gift shop stocked with local crafts. A short stroll from the car park opens the way to the gift shop where tickets can be purchased on site. With opening hours from 10 am to 4 pm daily (weather permitting), Port Logan Fishpond invites guests year‑round, especially during the spring, summer and early autumn months when the weather is consistently mild.
