Caswell Bay
About
Caswell Bay is one of the Gower Peninsula’s most popular sandy beaches, renowned for its Blue Flag status and family‑friendly atmosphere. Surfers are drawn to its steady waves, while the newly opened fully adaptive surf centre offers lessons to everyone, including those with disabilities. The beach also boasts a car park, public toilets, outdoor showers, and a café that operates year‑round, making it an accessible and convenient destination for all ages. Beyond the sand, visitors can explore the adjacent Bishop’s Wood nature reserve, a rare limestone woodland that welcomes educational tours and free unaccompanied visits. On the west side, a rural path leads to Brandy Cove and Pwlldu Bay, providing scenic strolls for walkers and photographers. The lifeguard service patrols the beach from 10 am to 6 pm Monday‑Saturday (and daily during the summer season), ensuring a safe experience for all. Dogs are prohibited from 1 May to 30 September, and the beach is wheelchair accessible with floating beach wheelchairs available for free hire. Whether you’re a surf enthusiast, a family vacationer, or a nature lover, Caswell Bay welcomes you with open arms and pristine waters.
