About

Open all year round to members and pre-booked tickets, open Thursday to Monday to general visitors. Ferne Animal Sanctuary, founded 1939, provides care and refuge for unwanted domestic animals, farm animals and horses. Set within the Blackdown Hills, it is the perfect place to enjoy peace and tranquillity. Entry will give you a glimpse into the life of a working sanctuary and all proceeds go towards the care of our animals. We are home to nearly 300 animals, they all have their own needs, and can be shy, so you may see a few or lots, depending on when you come and the weather. While you may not see all our animals, with our trails and Creative Corner here is always something fun to do. If you would like to find out more about our animals, why not book a Behind the Scenes tour, or purchase a sponsorship and add on a farm experience. Rehoming is by appointment only, please contact us directly.
