Located at the top end of the historic market town of Totnes, the Bay Horse is a traditional yet cosy establishment offering beautifully conditioned ales, excellent ciders, lagers, wines and spririts, with an emphasis on local products and suppliers. With a stone floor, fireplace and cosy sofas, the front bar brims with character. The adjoining lounge is a comfy welcoming area, leading through to a cosy snug with more sofas perfect for enjoying the ample supply of games and books. The real hidden gem is the huge outdoor space were a paved patio leads through to a lovely walled garden. Hosts Rob & Kathy maintain a relaxed atmosphere ensuring a welcoming pub for all, children and dogs included. We don't have a regular kitchen but BYO takeaway is welcome, there is a great pizza bar around the corner, chinese and indian takeaways close by and a fish and chip shop re-opening soon. The inn offers fine B&B accommodation with three double en-suite rooms, the pick being the spacious coach house suite with king size bedroom and large bathroom en-suite. It is an excellent base for exploring the area and host Kathy is a qualified tour guide, who can help with local information, or why not take her weekly walk around Totnes, Thursdays at 1030.
