Maritime Suites, Brixham
About
The vibrant working harbour and fishing town of Brixham was launched into the public eye when Sky Atlantic’s Fish Town aired to television audiences around the world. Among some of the most memorable of the series’ characters was local landlady Pat who ran the characterful Maritime Inn, and sometime later after the last episode of the series aired, Pat sold her beloved hotel leaving Brixham locals wondering what would become of the iconic establishment. Now, beautifully reimagined into a collection of five boutique luxury suites, the current owners have carried out an exquisite renovation that remains sympathetic to the building’s Grade II listed heritage. Paying homage also to the town’s fishing industry, each suite bears a plaque with the names of five of Brixham’s most famous trawlers that worked out of Brixham’s iconic fish quay in the 17th and 18th centuries; Provident, Leader, Golden Vanity, Vigilance and Pilgrim.
