Chiswell Walled Garden
About
Chiswell Community Walled Garden was created in 2004-2007 by the Chiswell Community Trust. The space chosen for the Garden is off Lerrett Ope on the site of adjoining 17th C cottages. These cottages were victims of the Great Storm of 1824 when the village of Chiswell was partially destroyed, 25 residents lost their lives with 38 houses left in ruins. The Garden has developed into a free-flowing, wildlife-friendly, flower-filled, eco space of tranquillity, nestling within high Portland stone walls. The Friends of Chiswell Walled Garden (fb) maintain this precious garden gem for the Community and visiting public. No entrance fee is charged however, there is a donation box and all monies collected go towards the day to day management of the garden. We hope you enjoy this little gem. Walled Garden Team
