Sturdy Bank is a small, friendly site on a farm in a quiet Cumbria location just on the edge of the Lake District National Park, five minutes’ drive from Broughton-in-Furness and Kirkby-in-Furness and 20 minutes from the market town of Ulverston. This laidback site is within easy reach of some of the Lake District’s top attractions: the nearest lake is Coniston Water, 20 minutes’ drive away, and it’ll take you less than half an hour to get to the Old Man of Coniston, Windermere and Beatrix Potter’s old stamping ground at Hill Top. This is a simple site with just basic facilities provided: it’s got a clean water supply and portaloos that are cleaned regularly. It’s a pick-your-own-pitch setup here so you’ll be able to choose the spot that suits you best, and you’ll be allowed to set up barbecues for outdoor eats.
